OPORTUNIDAD PARA JÓVENES COREÓGRAFOS

One of the young choreographers recommended by World Dance Alliance - Americas (WDA-America) will be selected to attend the International Young Choreographers’ Project (IYCP) in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, with three to four choreographers recommended by WDA-Asia Pacific, and an additional three to four selected Taiwanese choreographers. The adjudication panels in each of the participating regions will make their selections based on the choreographer’s potential to become a significant contributor to the field in the future.
The WDA-Americas choreographer selected to participate will receive an honorarium in the amount of $1200 USD, housing, local transportation, access to dancers and studio space, publicity, production and administrative assistance.
The IYCP will take place in the city of Kaohsiung, in southern Taiwan. The tentative dates for the 2013 event are June 30-July 21. Participants will create a new work for public performance. The concerts will be held at Tsoying High School on campus, in the main theater, on July 20th and 21st. The IYCP is supported by the National Culture and Arts Foundation, the Bureau Culture Affairs Kaohsiung City Government, and the Chin-Lin Foundation for Culture and Arts in Taiwan.
